All of our drop-in meditation classes are perfectly suited for busy modern people. You do not need to be a Buddhist to enjoy and understand Buddha’s teachings – anyone can benefit from increased inner peace.

All classes are taught by our Resident Teacher, or other experienced Kadampa teachers.

The general structure of the class is as follows:

  • Simple guided breathing meditation

  • Practical teaching on how to solve problems in daily life

  • Second guided meditation on the teaching topic

  • Brief discussion or Q & A

Although these drop-in meditation classes are taught as a series, each class is self-contained, so feel free to attend any one.

You do not need to book in advance, simply find a meditation class near you and pay when you arrive. If you would like more information or help, please contact us by e-mailing:  info@meditateinwestlake.org

We ask that shoes are removed before entering the meditation room. Most people sit in chairs, but cushions are available up front if you prefer to sit on the floor. Before the teacher enters the room, it is traditional to stand out of respect, but of course you have freedom and choice about doing this or not.

People who have never meditated before can benefit from our classes — everyone is welcome. Teachings are presented in a clear and easily accessible manner, and meditations are guided so that both beginner and experienced meditators can appreciate the benefits of meditation.

Attending the class

The classes are organized as short courses, usually 8 weeks long. You can attend the whole course or simply drop in whenever you can, as each class is self-contained.You do not need to book in advance, simply find a meditation class near you and pay when you arrive. If you would like more information or help, please contact us.
